The Cape IT Initiative is on a mission to shift perceptions about software development. We want to demonstrate to future coders and the world that: The Western Cape software development industry is a creative industry; and it is a growing "green" industry (not just in terms of green IT but also because we use sustainable opensource software solutions and open file standards and API's to get startups faster, further SMALLPRINT: CITi wants to keep the art because by March 2014, our aim is that 110 “creative works” with a “green” or “sustainable software” theme will have been produced by Western Cape software developers, IT Professionals and Digital Designers (ie IT from frontend to backend) for an exhibition to be held during World Design Capital 2014. (These creative works may take a number of forms, including actual artworks, software code, digital art, etc. The next workshop is on Saturday 10 November. The concept will be co-imagined by the participants at the 15 September workshop.)
