Delheim’s Winter Melting Pot of Fondue and Jazz
If music is the food of life, jazz is definitely the perfect beat to accompany an authentic hearty Swiss cheese fondue held in the cosy unique atmosphere of a leading Stellenbosch wine estate.
?Delheim Estate, one of the region’s most acclaimed wine farms set on the majestic Simonsberg, will this year again be presenting its popular series of Jazz & Cheese Fondue events which have become a highlight on the local wine and music calendars.
Hosted in conjunction with the Cape Town Music Academy (CTMA) which selects an eclectic line-up of diverse local jazz talent to accompany the experience of Delheim’s sumptuous cheese fondues, the events are to be held each Sunday Lunch from 2 July to 27 August.

Marco Maritz is a 27-year-old jazz trumpeter, composer, band leader and music educator. He completed his BMus from the South African College of Music at the University of Cape Town, and was awarded a full scholarship from the Johnny Mercer Foundation at Georgia State University, where he obtained a Master’s Degree in Jazz Studies. He also worked in the Johnny Mercer Archive, completing unfinished and unpublished works by Mercer and arranging them for big band and soloists. Marco is actively engaged in music education, pedagogy and curriculum development, and is a regular presenter of workshops for community projects
