ABOUT
On the evening of Saturday the 21st of September, the wonderfully quirky Tankwa Padstal in the Karoo was burned to the ground. All that remains are parts of the bar and shop which have been a welcome stop for anyone traveling on the R355 over the past few years.
SAPS have arrested a suspect alleged to have been behind the fire - but for Wally, Hein, Henrietta and Suzaan the losses amount to an incredible amount of antiques and treasures and a watering hole that they have built with love, shared with people, and used to uplift the local community.
The AfrikaBurn Outreach team have stepped up to identify ways in which the AfrikaBurn community can assist. Beyond physical items and volunteer skills, any financial support would be hugely welcomed to enable the Padstal building to be repaired and up and running as soon as possible.
