Please join us for the very exciting Stellenbosch Network Business Lecture Series on Innovation in Africa: Challenges, Trends, and Outlook. Our very own CEO, Josh Romisher will be speaking as well as Stellenbosch University/USB Professor and Head of Future Studies Programmes, Prof. André Roux.

Josh spent over six years in the African solar home system sector as the former CFO of Fenix International and Vice President of Corporate Finance at ZOLA Electric. Josh is a serial entrepreneur with an array of ventures, including a boutique investment bank in New York, a solar irrigation start-up in India, and a frozen yogurt franchise in San Francisco. His mission of creating impact at scale and passion for the environment led him to the distributed solar sector in Africa. He is driven by the opportunity to provide hard-working people across the globe with the platform to put their skills to work in affecting positive social change.

Prof. André Roux will be discussing upcoming trends in business in Africa and the role that technology is expected to play. Before being appointed by the USB, he was Director of the Institute for Futures Research (IFR) at the University of Stellenbosch since 1996. In that capacity, he ran various workshops and other strategic intervention sessions with and for leaders and strategists in business and government. Prior to that, he was an economist at the insurance company Old Mutual, a lecturer, and Head of Department in the South African National Defence Force and its predecessor, the South African Defence Force, as well as a Junior Lecturer at Stellenbosch University. Prof. Roux's areas of expertise are business economics and labour economics. His research focuses on globalisation and socio-economic development in Africa.
