Join us again for another exciting online event!
Jacques Velleman, the founder of The Business Book Club will be interviewing Frans Cronjé about his third book, The Rise or Fall of South Africa.
What awaits the world and South Africa in the 2020s and 2030s? Will the country continue down the path of state capture, corrupt leadership and economic downturn? Or can South Africa rise from Jacob Zuma’s lost decade and the devastating impact of Covid-19 to become a global economic powerhouse? And which scenarios lie in between? Frans Cronje’s latest book answers all these questions and explains in detail how South Africa’s economy, its politics, and its society will change and what you need to know to navigate around the coming pitfalls and position to take advantage of the longer term opportunities.
Frans directs the Centre for Risk Analysis (CRA). The CRA is a scenario focused research unit servicing the strategic intelligence needs of corporate and government clients. It uses deep-dive data analysis and first hand political and policy information to advise groups with interests in South Africa on the likely long term political, economic, social media evolution of the world and South Africa. Cronje has advised several hundred South African corporations, foreign investors, and policy shapers. He is the author of three books on South Africa’s future and scenarios from those books have been presented to an estimated 30 000 people. His latest book, The Rise or Fall of South Africa was published in April 2020. He teaches scenario based strategy at the business school of the University of the Free State.
