Arise is hosting a 3 week series focusing on Building Blocks in Adoption. The events will be facilitated by professionals from the Arise Team with input from an adult adoptee in each session too.

ADOPTION INFO EVENING - Thursday 3 September 2020

Considering adoption? Need a refresher? This is for you. We will be exploring dynamics that need to be considered such as Grief & Loss, Attachment and Identity in Transracial Adoption. If you have adopted or are interested, impacted or close to people who have adopted, please join us.

ADOPTING AN OLDER CHILD (12 MO+) - Thursday 10 September 2020

We often talk about children who are in 'the system' but what does it mean to consider adopting an older child? This session aims to unpack the myths, misgivings and provide some practical guidance for all parents who are considering adopting, or who have recently adopted, a child who may be older than 12 months.

PARENTING THROUGH THE AGES - Thursday 17 September 2020

Developmental milestones are a part of parenting – we are mindful of first teeth, first words and the first day of school. As we parent our children who were adopted, there are different developmental tasks that they may face as they grow and mature. Parenting Through the Ages aims to normalize these tasks and ensure that there is awareness of different things that might be happening for our children.
