International Cape Town-based singer Ike Moriz (20 albums on iTunes, cameos in movies like ‘Love Actually’, ‘Alfie’, as seen on Top Billing), known for his ability to switch effortlessly between musical genres, comes to the much-loved Grande Roche Amphitheatre in Paarl to shift us all into the holiday spirit with hits from his twenty album releases and more!

Voted one of South Africa’s top 5 singers in recent years, Ike is well-known locally as well as abroad, having toured in twenty countries, most recently on his sold-out ’Millennium Hits Tour 2019’ in Germany.

The prolific singer and actor will be accompanied by the famous Ike Moriz Swing Band, and, for the first time, they will be joined by a very talented and experienced group of members of the renowned Paarl Girls’ High School Choir: the Paarl Girls’ Singers, led by cellist and Head of Arts Anjulie Nock.

Together they have chosen well-suited, popular classics of the swing and pop genres to create an unforgettable evening under the stars with hits like Dean Martin’s ‘Sway’, John Lennon’s ‘Imagine’, Sinatra’s ‘New York New York’ and Moriz’s own ‘Love Swings’ and ’To Cape Town’.

As if this wasn’t already enough to get you in the festive mood, concert-goers will be able to sample innovative South African gourmet CONCEPT foods by chef Niel van Zyl as well as local Under Oaks wines at food and wine stalls on the premises from 6 pm (credit card facilities available).

Ike Moriz continues to enthuse audiences worldwide with his brand of melodic swing, pop blues. Based in Cape Town, Ike is from Germany and received two music degrees studying in Cape Town, Dresden and Rotterdam. He has often sung at Oude Libertas amphitheatre with his sold-out ‘Swing Band Hits’ shows. Ike is engaging and dynamic in his live performances and his show will make for a delightful and highly enjoyable evening of great entertainment.

The ‘Ike Moriz Swing Band’ consists of some of South Africa’s most accomplished musicians: Willie van Zyl on saxophone and clarinet, Andrew Ford on piano, Wesley Rustin on double bass and Ivan Bell on drums.
