Mass Jam - a Muizenberg Festival 2020 event

ABOUT

Muizenberg Festival presents Mass Jam – a music community summit to jam & network with other artists.

Hosted by Made in Africa and headlined by Zephyr Heirs, this event at the historic Masque Theatre is your opportunity to jam with other musicians and network with one another.

PRICE

R50 to guarantee you join at least two 15-minute jam slots, however the event organisers will try to accommodate you even if you’re not prepared to contribute cash. FREE to enter as a musician—carry your instrument to prove you’re one.

R50 for general admission, i.e. for the general public / friends / family to come spectate.

JAM FORMAT

Default is 6 musicians per 15-minute jam slots, however the organisers may shift the number from jam to jam.

The band members of Made in Africa and Zephyr Heirs will anchor the jams by default—i.e. they’ll provide steady/synchronized bass and drums backing (unless solo bassists and drummers request to jump in to replace them on a jam)—and solo artists (guitarists, brass players, etc.) will be added on top of that.

A PA system will be provided, but DM the event’s jam coordinator, Josh Pearlson, to double check your gear needs will be met.
