ABOUT

Do join us for three nights of Just Jazz live at Gallery MOMO on the Human Rights weekend.

Come let the jazz sounds lead you into "a journey less travelled". As you will be amongst the first to listen to a mesmerising exploration of sounds by bands led by Mandla Mlangeni, Sisonke Xonti and Yonela Mnana as they play in the presence of Percy Ndithembile's exhibition at Gallery MOMO, titled "Transcendence and Transfiguring".

"Ours is a canvas of our imagination where our colours are hues of an ascending melodic line or the crescendo of boisterous horns grooving to the syncopated rhythms of a new song."

Friday, 19 March: Amandla Freedom Ensemble led by Mandla Mlangeni (Standard Bank Young Artist 2019) comprises of Thembinkosi Mavimbela on bass, Muhammad Dawjee on tenor sax and Lwanda Gogwana on trumpet.

Saturday, 20th March: Sisonke Xonti (Standard Bank Young Artist 2020) will be playing with Yonela Mnana on piano, Sam Amaeshi on bass and Lungile Kunene on drums.

Sunday, 21st March: Yonela Mnana will be accompanied by The Soultee Sisters on vocals.
