ABOUT
Lisina is a South African artist based in Johannesburg (South Africa), also known as Bongani Masina in the music industry. He is a self-taught bass guitarist and vocalist born in Tjakastaad Mpumalanga. He started playing the bass guitar at his high school years, driven by passion for the instrument. During his high school years he joined a local group named Lite Masters in 1995.
He got his big break when he started playing professionally for the well-known legend Jabu Khanyile, at a time he was a member of the group called Khumbula that was well known for their African Maskandi and released 2 albums during year 2001 and 2003. Lisina has worked with many of South African well known artists.

Jabu Khanyile, Joe Nina, Tshepo Tshola, Zama Jobe, Angelique Kidjo, Afro Tenors, Camagwini, Kwela Tebza, Malik, Pu2ma, Sphokazi, Zulu Boy, Jessica Mbangeni, Mahottela Queens and many more.
Currently working with:
Caiphus Semenya, Letta Mbuli, Wanda Baloyi, Mbuso Khoza, Vuyokazi Tshaya, Paseka Tefu, and Skipper Tshabalala.
He is also working with a Swaziland based legend trumpeter Itallo Dlamini and has produced his latest album.

Lisina is a very passionate musician / artist. His inspiration comes from the likes of Sipho Gumede, Richard Bona, Bakithi Khumalo, Etienne Mbappe, Fana Zulu and Concord Nkabinde just to mention a few.
On the 24th of September 2019, Uthanda Kanjani music single by Lisina was released where he worked with the legendary guitarist Themba Mokoena and Jack Lerole Jnr.
On the 29th of January 2020 a follow up single titled Mr. Gumede where he pays tribute to the late Sipho Gumede who inspired him a lot in playing bass guitar. On this single he worked with the legendary Barney Bophela on keys, Simphiwe Ndaba on saxophone, Daniel ‘’KG Nova’’ Chuene on guitar, Bheki Nqoko on production and Lisina on vocals. Mr. Gumede will officially be released available in all online platforms under Kuwe Records on the 29th of January 2020.
