ABOUT
Have you been wondering how you can increase your customer base while expanding your start-up across the globe? Whether you're a seasoned entrepreneur or freelancer, or you're just starting out, Estonia's e-Residency programme is the right place for you.
Estonia’s e-Residency programme has attracted over 90,000 freelancers, startup founders and entrepreneurs from over 170 countries, including over 300 South African nationals. The programme allows 100% online service of establishment and running of EU-based companies. Estonia’s smooth business environment, simple tax code and low bureaucracy allows low cost of running a business, whereas Estonia aims to attract more holding companies via e-Notary services and possibility for companies to keep their own shareholder registry.
Estonia also has a vibrant startup ecosystem with 10 unicorn companies (USD 1 billion valuation) having grown out of the country with a 1.3 million population. Estonia is open for startup founders and employees with startup visa and digital nomad visa programmes, but e-Residency’s purpose is to make EU market much more easily accessible for business people outside the EU. One year ago e-Residency opened its pick-up point in South Africa which is currently based in Centurion, Pretoria.
Join SAIS and e-Residency for its 1 year birthday of having presence in South Africa and learn more about it and how to get involved.
