POSDUIF is a South African band that offers a fresh and energetic sound coupled with great lyrics and strong melodies. The group was formed in 2018 and made its debut with the single Brandy Special, which racked up close to 500 000 views on social media.

All of their tracks and music videos have been well received, featuring on the charts of various radio stations across the country and reaching thousands of people on YouTube. The group has also been nominated for Song of the Year and Band of the Year by Bok Radio.

To date they have released three singles – Een vir MyLaat Val Die Water, and Herinner My .

Their long-awaited debut album, Niks Vergelyk, will be released on 28 October 2021.

POSDUIF was initially planning on releasing their debut album last year. However, their plan was thwarted by the pandemic and related lockdown regulations. As is their nature, the band managed to put a positive spin on it by using the time to produce an album that they are truly proud of.

“The album offers a combination of songs, from sing out loud to shedding tears for those you love. It is a compilation of stories about our lives and each song carries deep meaning,” says Boland. “The idea was to create an album you can listen to from start to finish without losing interest. As such, each song has a unique story and sound.”

The group consists of Boland, Jordaan, Amiel Gopal (bassist), Brendan Campbell (producer and lead guitarist) and new member Nick McCreadie on drums.

Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, the group has managed to stay productive.

“We are incredibly grateful to have continued doing what we love, and we are thankful for our fans, radio stations, listeners and everyone working behind the scenes to support us. We can’t wait to celebrate with the public when all of this is over. We love our country and its people and look forward to being able to perform again as lockdown starts to lift.”
