ABOUT

Lyric soprano Pumeza Matshikiza possesses one of the contemporary most exciting operatic voices and is one of the most outstanding South African voices, compared already to Maria Callas. With DECCA she has done in the last years two recordings, “Voice of Hope’ and “Arias). Internationally appearing she covers operas from Henry Purcell to Giacomo Puccini but also songs by Faure, Hahn, Tosti and traditional South African folk songs. She excelled f.e. as Mimi and Rusalka and will appear coming March 2022 in London in Leos Janacek’s “The cunning little vixen”. Piano : Marnus Greyling
