ABOUT
Maynardville’s stage will return to life with a special once-off picnic and performance, Igniting Maynardville. The evening will include excerpts from Janni Younge’s Hamlet, told through life size puppets, which give us pause to reflect on the complex facets of humanity facing us in our South African context. Shakespeare’s work is phenomenal in its capacity to bring the massive scale of emotions into a context where we can see them. Come and enjoy an evening under the stars and once more revel in the Bard's inspiring work as it is brought alive by some of South Africa's best performers.
There will be limited chairs available at the side and back of auditorium for those unable to enjoy their picnic on the ground. These will be available on a first come basis. Please do not bring chairs into the venue as you will interfere with the sight-lines for other patrons.
