Buskaid #25th Anniversary Concert

On 17th July, the Buskaid Soweto String Ensemble will perform once again at the Linder Auditorium where it will celebrate 25 years of extraordinary music-making on the Linder stage.
Don’t miss this opportunity to hear this internationally acclaimed string ensemble perform the World Première of Scarlatti in Soweto, a quirky, jazzy piece by the renowned British USA-based composer, Julian Grant, written especially for Buskaid.
Also included in the programme is a suite of stunning music by the French baroque composer Lully. Buskaid’s brilliant young violinist Mzwandile Twala will be performing Dvorák’s magical Romance for Violin and Orchestra.
And finally, a bracket of pieces by Northern European composers: unashamedly romantic 19th and 20th century music, guaranteed to melt your hearts! A few new pop songs and a good helping of energetic Kwela will send you away smiling and dancing, whilst shaking off those winter blues!July 17th 2022 at the Linder Auditorium, Wits at 3pm

Additional Information: 27 Degrees Restaurant, adjacent to the Linder Auditorium, will be open for lunch before the performance from 12.30pm. A wide-ranging menu and a fully stocked bar will be available for all to enjoy. Tea, coffee, cake and snacks will also be available before the performance and during the interval.
