Elands River Trail

ABOUT

A beautiful river hike in the Limietberg Nature Reserve where we'll visit a pretty rock pool at the turnaround point, Fisherman's Cave. The opportunity exists for anyone brave enough to take an invigorating early winter swim all the while surrounded by stunning mountain scenes. The hike starts on the Worcester side of the Huguenot Tunnel (N1). Mostly young mountain fynbos is seen in the early stages of the trail, before we get down to the waters edge where riverine habitat dominates. 

This one is for the fynbos enthusiasts keen on a great winters' day exploring and (bravely) swimming in the Du Toitskloof Mountains.

Difficulty: Easy to Moderate

Grade: A+ graded out-and-back route on mostly excellent footpaths but with a number of steeper, sometimes very loose under foot sections where some minor scrambling is required. You need to be sure-footed.

Elevation: 250m gain/loss

Dogs: Not permitted

Ideal for: Fynbos Enthusiasts, Families & Mountain Swimmers

Meet location: At the CapeNature parking for the Krom River and Elands River Hiking Trail located between Rooiels / Gordon's Bay - PLEASE EMAIL OR WHATSAPP US TO SEND YOU A LOCATION PIN FOR THE HIKE.

(Please note that there is poor cell coverage in the vicinity of the meet location)
