Krom River Hike
Fri Apr 22, 08:30 - Fri Apr 22, 14:00
Krom River and Elands River Hiking Trail Start (N1 - Worcester side of the Huguenot Tunnel)
ABOUT
A rugged river hike in the Limietberg Nature Reserve where we'll visit one of the most magnificent rock pools for a mid-hike swim beneath dramatic mountain walls and indigenous forest as an iconic waterfall plunges down from high. The hike starts just outside the Huguenot Tunnel on the Worcester side (N1) and is a there-and-back route. The trail follows the river and as such is very rugged and involves boulder hopping, river crossings and technical rock scrambling to reach the top pool. You need to be sure-footed and comfortable with adventurous hiking. Mostly riverine habitat is seen but we'll also pass through pretty mountain fynbos and pockets of Afromontane forest.
This one is for the more adventurous hiker keen on a great day exploring and swimming in the Krom River Gorge.
