Join us for a cosy winter evening of Poetry, Song and an Open Mic at café Roux.

We start off with two featured poets: the wonderful Finuala Dowling and host Tara Rose, then the stage is ready for open mic. This is a community event, please bring your full expression, your love, your enthusiasm, your poems, your songs. Whether you want to share or just watch. Bring all that you are:

See and be seen -  Hear and be heard -  Move and be moved.

Featured Poets:

Finuala Dowling began her writing career 20 years ago with a small collection of poems entitled I Flying which went on to win the Ingrid Jonker prize. Since them she has published five more collections of poetry and six novels, the most recent being The Man Who Loved Crocodile Tamers. Finuala has taught at many institutions including Unisa and UCT and written many educational guides, textbooks and courses. She currently designs and teaches her own creative writing courses including the popular Six Ways to Think about a Poem.

Tara Rose is a Zen Coach, Family Constellations facilitator, tantrika and sacred space holder. She is a poetry lover and writer who facilitates 30 day poetry journeys. She uses poetry to delve deeper into our human experience.
