• An intimate modern concert hall with 200 seats;
• Located on the Unisa Muckleneuk Campus in the Theo van Wijk Building (right at the back of the building);
• It has a separate entrance on ground level, clearly marked Dr Miriam Makeba Concert Hall on the side of the building;
• After hours there is ample covered parking available. UNISA Protection Services will direct visitors to the parking areas adjacent to the venue

ABOUT THE ENSEMBLE

Established in 1978, The Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra is the resident orchestra of the beautiful Opera House of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. It is the only orchestra in the country dedicated solely to the performance of three musical genres: opera, ballet and musical theater.

The Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra Quintet’s touring program showcases compositions from America as well as beloved international pieces with a special focus on ballets and operas. Their repertoire includes selections from William Grant Still, Claude Debussy, Astor Piazzolla, Maurice Ravel, Myroslav Storyk as well as George Gershwin.

Classical Movements has been presenting the annual Ihlombe! South African Choral Festival across the country since 2009 and is the same company that brought the Minnesota Orchestra, as the first professional US Orchestra to tour to Africa, on their groundbreaking tour to South Africa in 2018. This time, they are bringing two renowned American chamber ensembles to the country.
