In this concert, Marelize Gerber (soprano) and Clint van der Linde (countertenor) will perform with the Cape Town Baroque Orchestra in a programme of arias and instrumental music from operas by three of the foremost 18th-century composers of Italian opera: Nicola Porpora (1686–1768), Adolph Hasse (1699–1783) and G.F. Handel (1685–1759). Erik Dippenaar, the CTBO’s Artistic Director, will conduct the programme from the harpsichord.


FMR’s Anna Stoddard will present a pre-concert talk about the composers and the music at 15.00.
