Fire is the oldest storyteller. The warmth of its light reveals to us moments beyond our lifetime. By invoking the spirit of fire, ‘ONTHOU’ is the process of remembering who we are despite the monumental myths that would have us forget.
/Xam Fortuin, in collaboration with The Fire, performed by Zanele Salukazana and Zandile Salukazana - will present a demonstration of ‘Ronde Taal’. This is a concept Fortuin has theorised and practiced in his masters thesis at the Michaelis School of Fine Art.
‘Ronde Taal’ can be described as a circular language that gives form to the unspoken. This journey merges visual art, performance, sound, installation and video to bring a unique storytelling experience to help us reflect on our collective rebirthing.
