ABOUT
DANCE FOR CANCER CARE
Secret Sunrise will be bringing joy to the cancer community by holding a dance on the 15th October for cancer patients, survivors, caretakers (i.e all those who have been or are currently affected by cancer) and anybody who would like to support, share the JOY and celebrate life!
WHAT TO EXPECT
Using headphone technology, headsets are handed to you on arrival. Our accredited facilitators guide you through a series of music of all genres. Secret Sunrise sessions encompass a variety of mindful practices, including meditation, breath work, movement and dance.
Each session is unique, often curated according to a theme that attendees come together to celebrate and are encouraged to dress up. We welcome all bodies, ages and fitness levels, backgrounds and creeds. Our sessions are fully accessible to everybody.
THE VALUE OF ATTENDING
The formulae which makes Secret Sunrise such a success over the past decade includes evidence based health benefits underpinned by a science called psychoneuroimmunology. This fascinating and HOPE filled evidence is clear and unquestionable; the community aspects, initial awkwardness, playful interaction and meditative elements affect your hormone expression, epigenetics, towards health and regeneration in our physical bodies. Plus the exercise, laughter and beauty of nature make it fun, joy filled and a space to safely feel the good feels.
BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH
In the spirit of Breast Cancer Awareness month, we are collecting donations for PinkDrive.
PinkDrive NPC, a health sector NGO, was founded in 2009 by Ms. Noelene Kotschan, on the premise that “Early detection will help prolong a life.” PinkDrive’s cardinal purpose is to contribute meaningfully towards preventing as many people as it can, from succumbing to breast, cervical, prostate and testicular cancer. Its primary focus is on citizens without access to reasonable care for these conditions, and who reside in areas where health services do not reach.
It recognises that treatable cancers receiving even the basic levels of care, could translate into varying lengths of extended life for the afflicted, when detected and treated early. It’s posture is ostensibly a promoter of health awareness in general, and specifically health education and heightening awareness of gender-related cancers in South Africa. You can find out more here: https://pinkdrive.co.za/
