  • Only Runners from other Provinces & outside Kimberley area may collect their race tags on Race Day from 05:00 to 05:45 at Magersfontein Main Gate.

Temporary license in FRONT- if you don’t have a 2022 license you must buy a

   temporary license @ R60

Medals to all finishers

Prize money for Open Athletes, Category winners (1st Male & Female)

& 1st Walker (Male & Female Finisher)

Age category tags compulsory + Walker tag – front & back & visible

T-Shirts sponsored by Noordkaap Makelaars for the first 100 finishers 25km only

Cut-off time = 03:30

Age restriction = 16

Water points every 3km with popular water hole at Crown & Royal Hotel, Modder River.

10km STARTING TIME = 06:05

 

• ASA License in front & back and visiable

Temporary license in FRONT

Medals to all finishers

Age restriction = 15 years

Cut-off time = 02:00

Prize money for the 1st Male & Female Finisher &

1st Male & Female Walker (Walker tag – front & back & visible)


Prize giving & lucky draws @ 10:00 for both distances

GENERAL INFORMATION:


Athletes must make use of the parking area at the start. There is no parking available at the museum. There will be a shuttle service to transport runners from the museum back to the start.

 

ROUTE: The race starts at the main gate at Magersfontein with the Kimberley Regiment Pipers setting the runners off on a gravel road.


The route follows a gravel road to Modder River and back finishing on top of the Magersfontein Ridge at the museum. The route also crosses the battlefield during the Anglo Boer War.


The well known waterpoint halfway, is at the Crown and Royal Hotel in Modder River which was the Officers Mess of the British troops during the battle of Magersfontein. There runners can enjoy a cool refrechment before heading back to Magersfontein.


This is an unique event with memorabilia medals every year to commemorate the Anglo Boer War.

DIRECTIONS TO MAGERSFONTEIN:


Follow the N12 to Modderriver (Cape Town)

Drive +-32km until you see the silos to your left.

Turn left into the Jacobsdal turn off

Immediately after the train bridge,turn left

Drive past GWK/landmark

Continue for about 900 and turn left onto the gravel road to Magersfontein,

Continue straight for about 8km to the main gate


Races run under rules of AGW, ASA & WA – NO earphones allowed

  Kimberley Harriers undertakes to follow the POPIA to process your Personal Information for the Magersfontein race results. 

All forms or race tags will be shredded 4 weeks after the event. You also hereby agree to give consent to be

  photographed at the event and photos to be shared on social media and news papers.

 By entering this event I undertake to be bound by the rules and regulations of the event including those of IAAF, ASA & AGW. I warrant that I am in good health and aware of the risks an dangers of physical nature of this sporting event, and do not claim ignorance of these risks and dangers. I hereby accept that I participate in the event entirely at my own risk and I release and discharge, to the fullest extent allowed in law, the organizers of the event, all sponsors, persons, person, and organisations assisting in the staging of the event, provincial and national athletics bodies and all local authorities from any responsibility, liability or cost relating to any injury, loss or damage of whatever nature, however caused, arising directly or indirectly from my participation in the event including pre and post-race activities. I further agree and warrant that if at any time I believe conditions to be unsafe, I will immediately discontinue further participation in the activity. NO EARPHONES ALLOWED.

 

MINOR RELEASE

 

And I, the minor’s parent and/or legal guardian, understand the nature of athletic activities and the minor’s experience and capabilities and believe the minor to be qualified, in good health, and in proper physical conditions to participate in the Magersfontein Race.

 

LITTERING RULES & REGULATIONS 2018 @ ROAD RACES:

(Rules 28.4.1 – 28.6 applies)

Littering is categorized as intentional & unintentional littering:

 

R 28.4.1 Unintentional littering is when a runner intends to throw waste into a box/

               trough/bin but misses.

R 28.4.2  Intentional littering is when a runner discards waste when there is no box/

                 Trough/bin anywhere in their vicinity.
