ABOUT

|| Rooted ||

What is it that grounds you? What keeps you rooted and anchored, especially when things around you feels like they are changing and spinning?

When I feel grounded, I feel steady and clear. I am aware of myself. I am connected to my inner experience and able to respond to what is going around me from a place that feels centred and intentional. I feel better when I feel grounded. I move with more ease when I feel grounded. I make better decisions when I feel grounded.

In this class, we will explore what is moving inside, giving our inner experience the space to be seen, felt, expressed and released. We use the dance to come back to ourselves and access an inner anchoring to resource ourselves for whatever it is that we are facing at this time.

Date: Saturday February 25th

Time: 10:00 -11:30 am

Venue: Erin Hall, Rondebosch

Classes are offered on a sliding scale. If the full fee is beyond what you can afford right now, feel free to select the reduced fee option. If you are in a position to select the "Pay it Forward" option, you will be helping us offer free or reduced spots to others. Please select according to what feels right for you at this time.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like to share more about your dance experiences. Looking forward to seeing you on the dance floor!

For those who are new to Expressive Movement: Expressive Movement is an embodied practice of self-exploration, a kind of movement meditation. The drop-in classes offer you the chance to connect with your body and move with whatever is present for you. There is an unfacilitated 15 minute warm-up at the start, after which I play an hour-long set of music. I offer prompts throughout the class to guide and support you to feel more comfortable, free and at home in your body.

There are no choreographed steps. No getting anything right or wrong. All that is required is that you stay present and listen for how your body wants to move. We are all made to dance. Every body is welcome.
