ABOUT
Join us to visit some of the most pristine and beautiful beaches just up the road from Umhlanga!
This is an easy hike (suitable for beginners and kids as well) where you can choose the distance you want to do.
The hike consists of 2 loops:
The northern 6km loop and the Southern loop which is 9km (Total 15km).
We start with the 6km Northern loop (beach walk), return the parking lot -where you can end your hike if you have had enough OR carry on and do the Southern loop (beach and forest).
We will visit some strange rock formations (only visible during spring low tide), some pristine beaches, Mdloti Lagoon, we will check the aftermaths of the April floods, Sibaya Coastal Forest Reserve (only if full hike is done) & other interesting places.
Time: 6.45 for 7am
Place: Umdloti South Beach Main Carpark
Distance: 6 OR 15km (you decide)
Duration: 2-4 hours
Cost: R100pp (R50 -U/18s)
What to bring: Shoes with good grips (hiking boots, takkies or rock shoes-you are welcome to walk barefoot on the beach-reconnect with nature!)
snacks, water or cold drinks, a cap, sunglasses and sunblock (summer is here so please take this seriously), plus a backpack to carry all that.
limited to 30 hikers.
If event is cancelled due to bad weather or low numbers, the hike will be re-scheduled and a new date will be provided.
