The talk is titled “Leadership and Entrepreneurship, lessons from the founder of Darling Brew, a leader and success story in the craft beer industry. The talk will be followed by a craft beer tasting with snacks.
About the talk: Many of us dream of starting our own businesses, but many never get past the initial dream and idea. Some people get so overwhelmed with risk related issues and all the detail that they never get past the starting point. Others seem to start a business without the best ideas or products and then improve it as they go forward. The story of the founding of Darling Brew is an inspirational one, where a business was started and then grown into one of the great craft breweries in South Africa. There are many lessons to learn from this case study that will be welcomed by all people, leaders and entrepreneurs alike.
ABOUT THE SPEAKERS:
Paul de Beer is founder and director of Evolve Leadership Consulting, a facilitator and coach. He consults to numerous clients nationally in the areas of high performance leadership, organisational development, change, diversity and strategy and also coaches certain of his executive clients. Paul has worked and managed at senior levels in several companies based in South Africa, China and Gibraltar. Over the last 12 years Paul has lead numerous large scale organisational culture change interventions, from which he has many valuable learning’s.
Kevin Wood founded Darling Brewery in 2010. His greatest achievement is the building of his own large scale brewery in Darling in 2015. He has an eye for design and is passionate about innovation. He feels his strength lies in branding with a strong focus on retail and service.
