Coastal Brass Collective @ Youngblood Africa

NewMusicSA presents the fourth concert of the Digital Indaba 2022-23 Concert Series with a programme celebrating the rich brass scene of the Western Cape. The ensemble Coastal Brass Collective will perform at Youngblood Africa

on Saturday, 7th January at 19.00h.

The Coastal Brass Collective was established in 2022, and consists of a brass quintet as the primary ensemble, but also perform in smaller groups. The group was named after the various coastal areas of the Western Cape that the founding members represent. The Coastal Brass Collective quintet performed in the 2022 Stellenbosch University National Ensemble Competition, and were winners of the open category, and overall winners of the competition. The quintet consists of five friends who are at various stages in their musical careers, ranging from student to professional musician.
