Wekeweke Falls Hike and 4x4 Ride

a brand new out of the ordinary event!!!

Come hike and 4x4 with us!

We will meet and start our hike from the parking lot of Shongweni Market. We will hike to the top of Wekeweke Falls, cross the stream and hike on sugarcane roads until we join the dirt road leading to Delville Station. We walk along some railway lines, through a service tunnel (yes, a real tunnel) to the bottom of the falls where we will have a nice break for snacks&cold drinks (bring your own) until our open game viewing vehicle comes to collect us.

From there we drive up to the old lookout tower with one of the best views in Durban, have a quick break, take a few pics and head back to our starting point! as easy as that! ;-)

This is an easy hike (suitable for beginners and kids as well).

Time: 6.45 for 7am

Place: Shongweni Market parking lot

Distance: appr. 8km

Difficulty:Casual hiker: Grade 2, regular hiker: Grade 1

Duration: appr. 3 hours

Cost: R350pp

What to bring:

snacks, water or cold drinks, a cap, plus a backpack to carry all that. also a phone or camera to capture all the beauty!

Walking shoes/takkies with good grip

limited to 8 hikers.

If event is cancelled due to bad weather, new date will be given.

Please also note that we need 8 people to go ahead with this event. if quota not met, event will be cancelled and refund will be processed

Grading Of Hikes:

Grade 1 Easy. Minimal fitness required

Grade 2 Not too strenuous. Moderate fitness

Grade 3 Moderate. Physical fitness advisable

Grade 4 Strenuous. Physical fitness essential

Grade 5 Very strenuous - high level of physical fitness essential
