ABOUT
Following on the success of ‘From Court to cottage’ in February 2022, the Lutesong Consort presents ‘From source to stream’ – another tribute to the lute song genre to which we owe our name, and John Dowland, its greatest composer. In this concert we explore how he frequently uses imagery of water and tears as metaphors for not only passion, but also eloquence and artistry. The songs, presented by a consort of four voices employing original Elizabethan pronunciation, will be interspersed with duets for two lutes by Dowland and his contemporaries.
With Elsabé Richter, Lente Louw, Willem Bester, Keaton Manwaring (voices), Uwe Grosser (7 course Renaissance lute) and Vera Vukovic (10 course Renaissance lute).
60 minutes. Please join us for a drink afterwards!
