We are thrilled to present Up Close and Personal; our live creative event hosted by The Cape Creative Collective at The Commons in Muizenberg, in collaboration with Concept Records. The purpose of this event is to bring together a community of music enthusiasts, traders and creators in a beautiful setting to showcase local talent and provide an intimate and unforgettable experience.

From exciting up-and-comers, to acts making waves in the local scene, we have a host of beautiful and engaging music for you to enjoy. In the beautiful and intimate setting of The Commons in Muizenberg, you'll be able to get up close and personal with the performers, feeling the music in your bones and experiencing the creative energy of the event.

Live Line Up

Khaya Mthembu-Salter Trio

Opening up the proceedings for Up Close and Personal, The Khaya Mthembu-Salter Trio bring that historical sound through the ages and allow the audience the space and freedom to experience the music as they wish. However, when one is locked in that trance it only feels right to allow the music to flow through you, accentuated by the three men on stage.

Lua

Our second performer Lúa is a multi-talented artist from Cape Town with magical vocals that will touch your soul, with her thoughtful, introspective lyricism. She is an incredible songwriter who tells a story that is truly authentic to herself through her music.  

Coasters

Introducing a new group we are extremely happy to see playing, Coasters. Two halves of one funky cool whole, Coasters is the happy amalgamation of Katarina Staines and Luke Verrezen and will be taking to our stage in their debut performance at Up Close and Personal.

The Loneliest Monk Jazz Jams House Band

The Loneliest Monk Jazz Jams is one of the best platforms for musicians in Cape Town and if you’ve been to a jam you know the hot sparks the performers make. Intimate, electric, the Jam is something to inspire muso’s to perform their art in a way that's for them, by them. The added cherry on top is that we get to be there.

Luukhanyo and The Hii Rollers

Luukhanyo and The Hii Rollers will be one of our headlining acts at Up Close and Personal. Luukhanyo is a 25-year-old R&B singer and rapper from Cape Town, South Africa, who has been making waves in the music industry with his unique style of songwriting. He is a multi-talented artist who expresses himself in a refreshingly honest manner while maintaining a sense of familiarity that resonates with his listeners.

We will also be having beautiful creations and crafts by Etnica Jewels and unique flash designs by Wam Bam Tattoos in our warm and cozy studio space.
