An evening with HAIKU HAIKU and Black Math

Haiku Haiku invite you to an intimate and exclusive theatre performance at the Homecoming Centre in District Six. They will be performing tracks off their debut EP as well as new and unheard music. The set will combine live visuals with their distinctive and dreamy performance style. The show will be opened by Black Math, offering something more edgy and raw and the promise of a totally unique evening out in Cape Town.

Haiku Haiku is a musical duo from Cape Town, South Africa. They offer something totally unique to the local scene with their striking visual performance and distinctive sound. Producer and well-versed pop composer, Sean Ross combines his talents with classically trained violinist, Caley Garden. Together they project classical sensibilities onto a digital landscape creating a sound that is broad, yet intricate, enigmatic and uplifting. Their performance combines electronic elements with live string quartet, creating a visually captivating and ethereal atmosphere that is totally unique to the South African scene. They released their debut EP, We Become All We Are in October 2022 and are currently working on new music.

Black Math is a three-piece band originally from Durban, South Africa. The band consists of Tyla Burnett (Bass Guitar), Cameron Lofstrand (Guitar/Vocals) and Acacia Van Wyk (Drums). Forming in 2010, they were friends in high school who shared a deep love for music. Over the years they made a name for themselves in the South African music scene and have grown into the power trio they are today. The music is raw, unforgiving and will hit you when you least expect it. They have developed their own sound that draws from genres like doom, noise rock, garage, psychedelic rock, punk and metal. Their live shows are intense, visceral and intimate.

Doors open at 7pm and seating in the theatre is unreserved.
