ABOUT
Join us in the Enchanted Kitchen at Makers Landing this Winter Holidays for a magical kitchen experience.
This Holiday program is aimed at kids between the ages of 5 to 12 years old.
Every day we cover a new and exciting topic where we teach the kids to make one savoury and one sweet item to take home with them or enjoy for lunch.
These cooking and baking classes aim to evoke creativity and a new love for food, creating healthy relationships with food and having a fun and exciting experience.
The 2-hour programme includes the following:
- Arrival and fruit snack
- Theory lesson: Kitchen basics and tour
- Practical cooking and baking lesson
- Recipe sheets
CLASSES:
25th June - Get to know the kitchen (Spaghetti with tomato sauce / Cookies )
1st July - Knife Skills (Savoury muffins / fruit skewers) *This class is for kids between 7-12years*
2nd July - Tea Time (Savoury scones / Cupcakes)
6 July - Rainbow Foods: Red (Pizza / strawberry cake)
7 July - Difference between fruits and veg (Chakalaka / fruit salad)
8 July - Flavours of South Africa (boerie rolls / milktart)
9 July - Science and Baking (Garden focaccia / flapjacks)
13 July - Rainbow foods: yellow and orange (Roasted butternut soup / orange cake)
14 July - Movie Night (Burgers / brownies)
15 July - Breads (cheesey bread / sweet scones with jam)
16 July - Sunday Funday (Apple crumble / toasted Sarmies)
Please note:
- The kitchen is a parent free Zone (no parents/ guardians allowed)
- All the classes are fully halaal.
- Diary, eggs and gluten will be used in most of the classes (we stay away from nuts just to be safe)
- If your little chef has special dietary requirements, please let us know in advance so we can ensure they still have a magical experience.
- The kids will be working with knives in a very controlled environment
- Please use your child's name when booking.
