Professor Tim Noakes of SA, Zoë Harcombe PhD from the UK, Nina Teicholz from the US and Caryn Zinn from New Zealand will be
sharing on
* the HPCSA hearing, in which they would all just have been involved
* their books
* their experiences since they made their nutritional standpoint; and
* the resistance they encounter in trying to change the Dietary Guidelines.

THE SPEAKERS

Professor Tim Noakes of South Africa:  A1 rated scientist, author and founder of The Noakes Foundation
Professor Tim Noakes is the founder of The Noakes Foundation.  He is a member of the National Research Foundation of South Africa, who list him as one of their highest-rated members.  He has run more than 70 marathons and ultramarathons, and is the author of several books on exercise and diet.
 
Zoë Harcombe PhD from the UK:  Obesity researcher and author of The Harcombe Diet
Zoë Harcombe PhD is a researcher, author, blogger and public speaker in the field of diet and health.  Her particular areas of interest and expertise are public health dietary guidelines (especially dietary fat), nutrition and obesity.  In 2006 she was awarded a PhD in public health nutrition.
 
Nina Teicholz from the US:  Investigative journalist and author of The Big Fat Surprise
Nina Teicholz is an investigative journalist and author of the International (and New York Times) bestseller, The Big Fat Surprise.  It is known as the book which upended the conventional wisdom on dietary fat and challenged the very core of our nutrition policy.  A review of the book in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition said, "This book should be read by every nutritional science professional".
 
Caryn Zinn PhD from New Zealand (Cape Town-born):  Co-author of two books, What The Fat? and What The Fat? for Sports Performance
Caryn is a New Zealand registered dietitian and a senior lecturer at AUT University, NZ, where she currently focuses her teaching and research work on whole-food, low carbohydrate, healthy fat (LCHF) nutrition and its application to metabolic health and sports performance.  Caryn also runs a private practice and has over 20 years of consulting experience as a dietitian.
