Baby Grand Burlesque Festival is an unprecedented annual showcase of South Africa's best of the best Burlesque dancers.
International and South African professional Burlesque Artistes take to the stage to compete for the title of Queen and show you all that the world of Burlesque has to offer.
Baby Grand Burlesque Festival offers a premier Burlesque experience - one which honours this art-form for its timeless elegance and historical significance. We hope to enrapture you with all of the glamour and sophistication of a bygone era whilst inviting you to experience a remarkable display of contemporary sensuality, sexuality, and empowerment. Artistes from South Africa and abroad apply for the opportunity to perform at Baby Grand to benefit their professional repertoires and represent, authentically, this art-form as one worthy of exceptional celebration.
Surrounded by plush theatre seats and gold-framed stage, a glowing bar and all the splendor of art-deco opulence, the prestigious Roxy Revue Bar at GrandWest, Cape Town is the perfect choice of venue to have partnered with for the seventh and biggest South African Burlesque Festival to date.

Debutante Ball

The Debutante Ball will showcase Artistes battling it out for the title of Best Debut. This category is for up-and-coming performers looking to cement themselves as forces in the Burlesque and entertainment scene. With renewed energy and vibrancy, this event will no doubt catapult the competitors into stardom.
This year the Debutante Ball will feature Burlesque Headliner Lady Magnolia.
Battle Royale
18:30 – 20:30

Show Starts: 19:00
The Battle Royale will showcase prestigious Artistes battling it out for one of three titles – Miss Sheba Tease (Favorite Tease), Miss Hot Licks (Favorite Choreography) and Miss Glad Rags (Favorite costume). This category is for seasoned professionals who are looking to join an elite group of Burlesque legends who have perfected their craft.
This year the Battle Royale will feature International Burlesque Headliner Shimmy LaRoux from Chicago, USA.
We continue to push the boundaries of professional Burlesque in South Africa by having the audience vote for the crowning of our four Burlesque Queens. The winners will be crowned at the end of each show respectively. The winners may wear their titles until our 2024 event.
