Kath Megaw: The relationship between gut health, sleep and picky eating in children

Kath is a Clinical Paediatric Dietitian (with special interest in special needs, fussy babies, picky eaters and epilepsy) who gained specialist experience and a qualification in Paediatric and special needs Dietetics at the prestigious Johns Hopkins medical school in Baltimore, USA. As a mother of 3, Kath’s theoretical paradigms are constantly challenged as her children help her put her theory into practice. Kath co-authored the books weaning sense and allergy sense with Meg Faure which has been published in the RSA & UK.

Nicki’s academic interests are sport nutrition, behaviour change, weight management, diabetes, cholesterol, intestinal disbiosis and sport nutrition. Her interest in sport nutrition covers all sporting codes, including endurance -, power – and weight making sport. She works with athletes or active people at any level of performance to help all towards their best performance.

Dr Christa North is a well-respected Registered Dietitian who specialises in Precision Medicine and Nutrigenomics. Christa’s exceptional skills in research and development are put to good use in the ever-expanding world of Precision Medicine. Christa has an unmatched understanding of genetic testing - from the laboratory to the customer. Christa has developed several interpretive genetic reports and regularly trains health care professionals in the rapidly expanding field of Precision Medicine.

Dr Sheena Mathew is extremely passionate about promoting the field of family medicine amongst patients and other health practitioners in both the private and public sector. She believes that Family medicine’s preventative and proactive holistic approach has the potential to transform healthcare in our country. She looks forward to pursuing this vision through her roles as an EXCO member of SAAFP (South African academy of Family Physicians) and a senior lecture at UCT family medicine department to.
