Lebo's Soweto Backpackers
ABOUT
Women's month in South Africa celebrates the feats and achievements of women throughout South Africa's history. This month, our night walk visits the home of Lilian Ngoyi who lead the remarkable and world renowned 1956 Women's March against the apartheid governments pass laws.
"We, women, will never carry these passes. This is something that touches my heart. I appeal to you young Africans to come forward and fight. These passes make the road even narrower for us. We have seen unemployment, lack of accommodation and families broken because of passes. We have seen it with our men. Who will look after our children when we go to jail for a small technical offence -- not having a pass" unknown
Our walk starts at the famous Lebo's back packers in Mzimhlophe and we visit as per normal, three sites of historical significance including the home of Lilian Ngoyi.
Bring that powerhouse of a woman in your life and stay the night with our special package that includes bed and breakfast.
All tickets include the walking tour, dinner, drinks and a goodie bag.
