Breede River 2023 Seagull Outboard Regatta
The inaugural Breede River Seagull Regatta is to take place on the 21st of October 2023 at the scenic Viljoensdrift Wines in Robertson, Western Cape. Hosted in collaboration with our esteemed sponsors, BUCO Western Cape Lubricants and Viljoensdrift Fine Wines, this event promises to be an extraordinary day for Seagull Outboard enthusiasts, participants, and spectators.
Get ready for an early start! Gates open at 08:00am for setting up and last minute tuning. The official briefing will take place at 10:00am. The regatta will commence at 11:00am Sharp!! The two lap event makes up the distance of 12 km. There is only one slipway available, so we recommend an early arrival to avoid any potential bottlenecks!
Participation costs are R200.00 per boat and Captain, which includes a T-shirt, additional crew tickets are R200 each, including a T-shirt. For spectators, the entry fee is R50.00 per person. Be sure not to miss the special auction of a Seagull Outboard and a Magnum bottle of wine, which will take place at 12:30 PM. The proceeds will be donated to Hospice and SPCA, Robertson.
Join us at 13:00pm for an exciting prize-giving ceremony, where we'll reward the Fastest 5 hp, Fastest 40+, Best Dressed Crew, Most Cheerful Crew, and the Engine that Quits the Most.
The event site is a picturesque location, featuring plenty of green grass where attendees can relax and enjoy a marvelous view of the river. We'll also set up a Stretch Foam tent equipped with tables and chairs for your comfort. However, you're more than welcome to bring your own folding chair.
To tickle your taste buds, delicious hotdogs will be available for sale, and a cash bar will cater for those wanting a refreshing drink. In addition, the Viljoensdrift Wines' full restaurant will be open, offering a variety of dishes accompanied by their signature fine wines.
What's an event without music? Enjoy performances from a local artist that will be sure to have you tapping your feet.
