IMVULA
Sun Nov 26, 18:45 - Mon Nov 27, 20:30
District Six Homecoming Centre, Star Theatre
ABOUT
A South African dance and musical production inspired by Maxwell Xolani Rani's: Tears in the Rain.
Tears in the Rain is an African contemporary dive into the impact of winter rains in Cape Town's townships. Expanding on this central theme, Imvula is an ode to the immeasurable depth of South Africa’s creative potential and its peoples collective resilience.
“It is so special when you get to witness dancers exquisitely embody power, authenticity, generosity, commitment, expressivity as vocabularies of technique from the first to the last beat. One could sense that for this community, dance is life itself! Such a unique African Contemporary aesthetic that breathes embodied truth and a Southern African flavor.” Lisa Wilson, Head of Dance at UCT
