ABOUT

The Kommetjie Festival is a charity event to raise funds for Komwatch and Selected Charities.

We will be hosting a live music event at Fishermans' Garden

Restaurant on 18th November 2023 from 2pm until 10pm.

We will start the music with

BILL KNIGHT from 2pm until 3pm

Bill is a legend in musical circles never failing to kep a crowd entertained with his music

JONATHON STEVEN SIMONS will be playing from 3pm until 4pm.

Jonathan is a Capetonian musician, producer and sound engineer, independently climbing his way up the

shaky ladder that is the South African music industry.

From 4pm until 7pm we will have MIKE MCCULLOUGH

Legendary producer and musical director, Mike McCullagh, of

McCully Workshop, Station 70, and 60 Something,

The band, spearheaded by Mike on drums and vocals, enjoyed a

3-week run at Kalk Bay Theatre in May with sold-out performances for most of

run. They will re-create many of the sounds of the Swinging Sixties, as well as

put their stamp of originality on their versions of Beatles’ songs.

Mike received a Sarie Award for his song of the year, Buccaneer,

which achieved gold status in 1978. He directed the musical Beatlemania for

Artscape and his acclaimed 60 Something ran at the V & A Waterfront’s Dock

Road Café for 4 years.

DJ Rene The Frenchman can get any dance floor moving to his

powerful World sounds Retro, Nu-disko, Latin / Cuban / Brazilian style house

and the very best of French house. He has pioneered the concept of mixing DJing

with live drumming and Afro-brass .
