ROUTE: The race starts at the main gate at Magersfontein with the Kimberley Regiment Pipers setting the runners off on a gravel road.
The route follows a gravel road to Modder River and back finishing on top of the Magersfontein Ridge at the museum. The route also crosses the battlefield during the Anglo Boer War.
The well-known waterpoint halfway, is at the Crown and Royal Hotel in Modder River which was the Officers Mess of the British troops during the battle of Magersfontein. There runners can enjoy a cool refreshment before heading back to Magersfontein.
This is a unique event with memorabilia medals every year to commemorate the Anglo Boer War.
