God Emperor - A Megagame of Politics and Betrayal

ABOUT

God Emperor is a blood-stained fantasy Megagame of Power, Lies, and Regicide. 

Ten thousand years ago, The God Emperor and his infinite army came down from Heaven. In a single night they took over the continent, slew the demon who ruled here and built the mountains from its bones. He has ruled with an iron fist ever since: perfect, infallible, and eternal. You know this because everyone says so, in public. There’s nothing to contradict it. He burnt all the history books.

Now, though, you hear the same people also whisper blasphemy: The God Emperor grows weak.

He is seen little, and makes few decrees. Soldiers desert his armies. The old religions, almost forgotten now, are re-sprouting like trees after a fire. You are a member of a Noble House. As the God Emperor rots, your House has grown strong.

You will command armies.

You will make laws.

You will plan treason.

You will bring down the God Emperor.

You will take his place.

You and 2-5 other players will form a Noble House, and youll engage in war, chicanery and backstabbing over the course of the day to secure your House's place and depose the God Emperor. With some strategy and luck, you'll be the one to sit on the Celestial Throne.

Each turn, your House will send its members to one of the three core areas of the game: War, Politics, and Espionage. You get to choose which one to go to each turn. Each area is like a separate game which affects the Megagame as a whole. In between turns you will gather back with your House to Marry, hold Funerals, and Duel challengers to protect your family’s Honour.

A Control Team adjudicates the rules and keeps the game running - so you are free to come up with crazy ideas and wild schemes as you see fit.

FAQ:

Do I need to bring a full team of people?

No, the game is designed to work with teams of 3-5. If you show up alone, we'll allocate you to a team with some friendly people.

What else do I need to bring with on the day?

We will provide everything for the game except food and drink. Bring plenty of that (no alcohol). You're encouraged to dress up according to your House's theme.

House theme?

A few weeks before the game, we'll send out a survey where you can choose your House's sigil. That's the team that you will play on the day. Each house has a certain theme and secret goal that you will play towards.
