Join us in the Enchanted Kitchen at Makers Landing this summer holiday for a magical kitchen experience.
The Makers Landing Mini Makers food education programme is aimed for kids 5 – 11 years old and teens 12- 16 years old . Empowering tomorrow's food innovators, enthusiasts, and entrepreneurs in a fun and safe environment. Kids learn, make and play while exploring the kitchen and meeting new friends. The Summer Edition starts on Sunday, 16 December 2023 and runs till 14 Jan 2024.
Every day, we cover a new and exciting topic, and we teach the kids to make one savoury and one sweet item to take home with them or enjoy for lunch.
These cooking and baking classes aim to evoke creativity and a new love for food, creating healthy relationships with food and having a fun and exciting experience.
The 2-hour program includes the following:
- Arrival and fruit snack
- Theory lesson: Kitchen basics and tour
- Practical cooking and baking lesson
- Recipe sheets

- Cheesy bread pinwheels and Reindeer Marshmallows

- Xmas cookies and decor
- Spaghetti and meatballs and fruit salad
- Veggie bread and chocolate cake
- Burgers and Fruit skewers
- Chocolate Brownies and traffic light Quiche
- Rainbow cupcakes and Savoury scones
- Sweet and savoury tarts
- Boerie Rolls and Milktart
- Focaccia and chocolate surprise cookie
- Savoury Muffins and crepes
- Strawberry cake and octopus pizza
Please note:
- The kitchen is a parent free Zone (no parents/ guardians allowed but can watch from outside the Kitchen)
- All the classes are fully halaal.
- Diary, eggs and gluten will be used in most of the classes (we stay away from nuts just to be safe)
- If your little chef has special dietary requirements, please let us know in advance so we can ensure they still have a magical experience.
- The kids will be working with knives in a very controlled environment
- Please use your child's name when booking.
