Short & Sweet, Season 3
Ahead of August’s ordinary auspices, it gives us great pleasure to announce the highly anticipated third season of Short & Sweet… Comprising all-new content in a venue resplendent with the glamour of a bygone cinematic age, Cape Town’s original short film experience has returned to pique your perceptions and canoodle your curiosity. Dedicated to the exhibition of short film as a critical art form, Short & Sweet showcases a hand selected bouquet of short films, animations and music videos in the evocative, interactive ambience of an authentic Old World theatre.
In addition to our Tuesday evening screenings (commencing on the 13th of August), Short & Sweet is proud to announce the inception of our Saturday matinee concept. Encompassing the original format of the film evenings, Sweet & Sound aims to further enrich this eclectic experience through the featured acoustic performances of two prominent local bands every Saturday afternoon.
Taking root once more in the vintage surrounds of the Old German Club, this season’s joyful expansion will feature three bars, comprehensive seating, a high definition projector, a menu worthy of the munchies, craft beer, live digital art to ease the burn of intermission, popcorn and a gourmet coffee stand. Expect an electric social atmosphere in which the interested and the interesting congregate to network, share ideas and celebrate cinema. Third time’s a charm…

Short & Sweet Showtime: Every Tuesday doors open at 5pm, films start at 7:30pm
Sweet & Sound Matinee: Every Saturday doors open at 1pm, films start at 3pm with live music following thereafter.
