Review: It’s All Fun & Games With Dinners To Die For
I do a lot of stuff. Like, A LOT. All the time. So sometimes it’s a little difficult for me to be impressed. Which is terrible, I know, and I feel like a dork even saying it. But it’s true. The good thing, though, is that if something genuinely fantastic comes along, I’ll be over the moon. And that’s exactly the experience I had with the Dinners To Die For experience at Bu Ya Ramen & Sake Bar this past weekend.

Murder Mystery Dinner at La Bottega
December 9, 2018
Looking for a bloody good night out in Cape Town full of mystery, suspense and excitement?
The moment you walk through the door you will be immersed in a thrilling experience, mingling with crazy characters and shady suspects in a game of murder you get to play! On arrival you receive a welcome drink as you browse through a selection of props and costumes to help you get into character. Prior to the event a character brief is sent to all guests involved that includes anything from background and alibi, to the relationship with the victim. There are a total of eight to ten suspects at each table. As soon as everyone is seated, the mystery will begin. The Police Chief and Detective will lead the investigation, providing extra clues throughout the event. There are also a couple of clues scattered around the table to help with the investigation. As you gather all the clues you can interrogate suspects around the table to gain more information. All suspects must answer truthfully according to their scripts. The lies are built into the script so even the murderer doesn’t know whodunit! Prizes are up on offer for those who can crack the case as well as for the best character.
Looking for a fun-filled event for your next birthday party? This is super fun and very interactive. Nothing like enjoying a great meal with friends whilst finding yourself being part of a fictitious murder mystery.

?What fun we had at my husband’s 40-something birthday with Dinners to Die For!
We had around 20 guests which we thought was perfect for the mystery. We did
the cruise ship theme and added a 1920’s spin on it. The “inspector and mortician”
(main actors) were hilarious! It’s such a fun, unique way to have a party. We catered
dinner and stopped halfway through the mystery to eat, then continued. It was a nice
flow. They came with props and everyone got really into it. Highly recommend!"

"The game encouraged lots of lateral thinking and teamwork, not to mention a
good many laughs. Besides being a great family activity, it would make for an
excellent teambuilding exercise in a work or even school setting."

"Thank you once again for a great Team Building experience! We have already let other
team mates know about you and they may also use your team in future :)"
"Dinners To Die For Not your usual ‘dinner and a show’ experience, Dinners To Die For pride themselves in creating immersive, murder mystery events where guests are as much part of the show as the actors themselves!
Founded and run by professional actors, Danielle and Rowan Studti, the show unfolds before you as an unexpected murder takes place. Shortly after, the detective arrives to close off the crime scene and start questioning the suspects. With a variety of scripts and storylines to choose from, the classic ‘who dunnit’ narrative is played out in what can essentially be described as a skilfully constructed event of live, role-playing Cluedo. Professional actors set the scene, and the attendees of the event act as the detectives and help catch the killer. The backdrop for all of this murder mystery mayhem can range from the 1920’s New York, to a Miami Vice-type crime scene. Founded in the Mother City, Dinners To Die For is now coming to Johannesburg. Events can take place anywhere from your home, to a restaurant or hotel. The Rand Club and Casa TosCana are some of the venues in the Johannesburg area that are already teaming up with Dinners To Die For. A talented group of up and coming Johannesburg based actors will also be joining the team. Whether you are wanting to plan a memorable party for an upcoming milestone, celebrate your child’s birthday, or are looking for an ideal team-building experience, Dinners To DieFor has a variety of context and age appropriate options to choose from. What’s more, they offer both in-person and online events, and take as much pride, care and craft into their online events as their live ones."
