ABOUT
Gabriele von Dürckheim, principal flautist of the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra, and Esthea Kruger, award-winning South African pianist, present a fascinating programme of music for flute and piano. The recital features the stunningly beautiful violin sonata by César Franck (arranged for flute and piano) and two works by the Australian Composer Anne Boyd. We will also hear Orithyia and the North Wind by the celebrated South African composer Hendrik Hofmeyr, and the spectacular sonata for flute and piano by Nikolai Kapustin, master of the classical-jazz crossover idiom.
