Join us for a creative and cultural walking tour of Noordgesig, a.k.a. Bulte, led by tour guides Fabian and Lavinia Otto. This tour is a unique opportunity to explore the history and culture of Noordgesig, a historically coloured township and one of the first townships in Soweto, and to view its beautiful public artworks, which are based on Noordgesig oral histories. Lavinia and Fabian live in Noordgesig and are active community leaders; Lavinia is also an accomplished street artist and sign writer and designed many of the Noordgesig murals. The tour is a short walk, about two kilometres, and will last for approximately two hours. Drinks and a street snack will be provided along the way. Safe street parking with a car guard will be available.
Some of the Noordgesig murals, which were created during the 2017 #ArtMyJozi campaign, are beginning to fade, as street art often does. Don't miss this opportunity to see these important historical artifacts while you still can!
