SATURDAY
Nomadic Orchestra
Nomadic Orchestra is a five-piece brass dance band, based in Cape Town, South Africa. The primary goal of the Nomads, as they’re affectionately referred to, is to get people moving. The band plays an infectious kind of high-energy dance music guaranteed to get feet tapping and limbs flailing. They are strongly influenced by traditional music from the countries of South-Eastern Europe: Macedonia, Romania and Serbia. They are also influenced by Klezmer, gypsy and circus music as well as contemporary western party music. Their musical training brings a strong jazz aesthetic to the band, and thus an emphasis on improvisation.
Miss Jackson
A DJ for people who generally dislike DJs – Miss Jackson’s love for music is rooted in old-school hip hop and punk but has broadened over the decades to include ska, dub, reggae, funk, alternative rock and beyond. Her eclectic tastes and intuition will excite and surprise, keeping the good vibes flowing...
SUNDAY
12h00 Doors Open
14h00 Shenanigans
15h00 SNAFU ft Natasha Malherbe
16h00 The Honeymooners
17h00 Lonesome Dave Ferguson
SNAFU transforms classic songs across all genres into pumping, jiving reggae stompers for the purposes of jubilation and has an extensive repertoire of reggae, ska and dub, nestled alongside our ever-growing original material and nifty cross-overs from other genres and artists.
The Honeymooners are an Acoustic Folk / Country Duo from Johannesburg, South Africa. They are husband and wife Steve East (from the Alt. Country band Crystal Park) and Jolene East (aka Jolling). Their live performances are a quirky, fun and highly entertaining show where the two perform some of Jolene’s original songs, some songs from Steve’s band Crystal Park (done in a very different style) and some covers from some of their favourite artists.
“LONESOME” DAVE FERGUSON is a one-man lo-fi-hi-impact explosion of Trans-Blues & Country-Dub. This solo show uses only harmonica, human beat-box and vocals, recording live loops and then layering and building those loops to construct a song… Although it’s a solo act it’s not your typical singer-song-whiner type show, expect more in your face dance-style grooves served up in a Deep-South style…
