Hikes Overview:

1. Transkei Day Trip – Approx. 15km | Grade 3 (distance & beach walking)

• Duration: 9 hours (including transport)

1. Umtamvuna Nature Reserve – Approx. 8km | Grade 2-3

• Duration: 3-4 hours

1. Mini Red Desert – 3km | Grade 1

• Duration: 1 hour

Note: Moderate fitness is required for Hikes 1 and 2. No beginners or casual hikers allowed!

What to Bring:

For the hikes:

• Snacks, water, or cold drinks
• A cap, backpack, and camera/phone
• Hiking boots with good grip
• Water shoes for river crossings (and a small towel)

For camping:

• All your camping gear (tent, sleeping bag, mattress, lights, etc.)
• Your own food and drinks
• Fishing gear (optional for river fishing)

Important Info:

• Only 12 spaces available!
• We need 8 confirmed bookings to proceed. If the quota isn’t met, the event will be cancelled, and refunds will be processed.
• No refunds or credits for 'no-shows'.
• If the event is cancelled due to bad weather, it will be rescheduled or credit will be provided.

Hike Grading System:

• Grade 1: Easy. Minimal fitness required
• Grade 2: Moderate fitness needed
• Grade 3: Moderate. Physical fitness advisable
• Grade 4: Strenuous. Good physical fitness essential
• Grade 5: Very strenuous. High level of fitness essential
