You are invited to the Annual Homecoming Weekend! These gatherings, events and reunions for Stellenbosch University alumni takes place from Thursday 12 September 2024 to Saturday 14 September 2024 on the Stellenbosch and Tygerberg campuses.
Here is the 2024 Homecoming programme as well as a list of reunions.
Thursday 12 September 2024

Maties Alumni Homecoming Golf Day
Venue: Stellenbosch Golf Club (https://www.stellenboschgolfclub.com/)
Cost: R5 000 per fourball or R2500 per 2 ball
The tickets include 18 holes of golf, a halfway house, wet holes, dinner and a prize giving event.

Maties Theatre Production Showcase
Venue: Adam Small Theatre Complex
Cost: R120 (includes refreshments)
The showcase will feature afro-jazz Cape Town band, Kujenga, as well as two productions created and directed by students of the Drama and Theatre department.

Matie Voices – In conversation with an influential alumna
Michélle van Breda, editor of Sarie magazine, reflects on 75 years of Sarie and her career.
Sarie, the famous and popular women’s magazine, will commemorate her 75th anniversary later this year. Michélle van Breda, a Matie, has been editor of this iconic magazine since 2001. Please join us for a conversation about her career, job and journey with Sarie. We will, of course, also talk about the big celebration.

Join fellow Maties for a jolly and relaxing social gathering at the Alumni Clubhouse. A line-up of Maties artists will perform during the evening, and a variety of food and drinks will be on offer.

Matieland Concert
The Matieland Concert in the Endler Hall is the grand finale of the Homecoming Weekend. Join us as we celebrate the artistic talents and creativity of some artists in our Matie network.
Venue: Endler Concert Hall, SU Conservatorium, Victoria Street, Stellenbosch
Cost: R200 per person
Artists: Sue Pyler (storyteller and master of ceremonies), André Schwartz, Nelandi Boshoff, Darryn Kenned, Sima Mashazi and Ramon Alexander, Nic Miso and the Maties Jazz Society.

Ons nooi jou baie graag uit na die Maties Alumni Tuiskomsnaweek 2024 by jou alma mater! Maak jou vriende bymekaar en sluit van Donderdag 12 September 2024 tot Saterdag 14 September 2024 by mede-Maties aan op die Stellenbosch- en Tygerberg-kampusse.

Maties wat tydens die bekende Première-teaterfees by die Universiteit Stellenbosch presteer het, sal op die verhoog te sien wees.

Matie Stemme – In gesprek met ’n invloedryke alumna
Michélle van Breda, redakteur van die tydskrif Sarie, gesels oor 75 jaar van Sarie en haar loopbaan.
Sarie, die bekende en gewilde vrouetydskrif, vier later vanjaar haar 75ste bestaansjaar. Michélle van Breda, ’n Matie, is sedert 2001 redakteur van dié ikoniese tydskrif. Kom sluit by ons aan vir ’n gesprek oor haar loopbaan, werk en reis saam met Sarie. Ons gesels natuurlik ook oor die groot herdenking.

Matieland-konsert
Die groot afsluiting van die Tuiskomsnaweek is die jaarlikse Matieland-konsert in die Endlersaal in Victoriastraat. Kom geniet die kunstenaarstalent en kreatiwiteit van mede-Maties – almal saam op een verhoog.
