Calling all Founders, Investors, Operators and Ecosystem Enablers!

Startup Club ZA is excited to announce our next City Connect event in Cape Town.

Startup Club ZA is South Africa's fastest-growing startup and investor community, on a mission to foster connection and create opportunity for the country's leading tech entrepreneurs, investors, operators and ecosystem builders. Our upcoming event on Thursday, 30 May will feature prominent guests Jonathan Smit (Exited Founder, Payfast) and Kiaan Pillay (CEO & Co-Founder, Stitch) for a night of invaluable connection, insights and a rare opportunity to dive into the journeys of each founder and their respective ventures.

OUR GUESTS:

• Jonathan Smit is one of South Africa’s most respected tech founders, with extensive experience in the payments and retail sectors. He founded PayFast (payfast.io) in 2007 and grew it to 130 staff with multi-million dollar revenues, before successfully exiting the business to DPO (Network International) in 2021, in what was touted as the "largest-ever acquisition in the African payments sector".

• Kiaan Pillay is the CEO of Stitch (stitch.money), one of the country's fastest-growing startups helping businesses connect to the financial system through next-generation payments infrastructure. Since it's founding in 2019, Stitch has grown into a leading, end-to-end payment service provider (PSP), onboarded countless big-name enterprise customers and raised $52m from some of the world's leading fintech investors.

NEED-TO-KNOW:

• Tickets are mandatory for admission and your ticket does not include a plus-one. We regret no walk-ins.

• Attendance is capped. Once we have reached capacity, please email us at team@startupclubza.com and we will revert should space become available.

• Entrance closes at 18:10pm SHARP. We reserve the right to admit late comers, out of courtesy for our attendees.

• Light catering and drinks will be provided on the night.

• Limited Street Parking is available, with additional paid parking available nearby (2min walk) at Harrington Square (Charly's Bakery). We recommend using ride-sharing if/where possible.

• Tickets are not refundable, but transferrable up to 48 hours before the event (5pm, 28 May). To transfer your ticket, please notify us by email and include the name/surname/email address of your replacement.

• IMPORTANT - on account of popularity and in order to grow a good attendance culture, "no shows" without prior notice will be excluded from future events.
